East Los Angeles Projects

san gabriel canyon paseo del rio lashbrook park woodland farms lario creek

The San Gabriel River drains from the San Gabriel Mountains down to San Pedro Bay, and is connected to the Los Angeles RIver by the Rio Hondo. It is not as thoroughly channelized as the LA River, with more soft-bottomed stretches, adjacent green space, spreading grounds and detention areas. The Lario trail is a 29-mile bike and equestrian system running from the Peck Road Water Conservation Park in El Monte, through the Whittier Narrows Recreation area, and continues along the Rio Hondo down to its confluence with the Los Angeles River.
